What is CometTHON?

CometTHON at UT Dallas is a student-run organization in partnership with Children's Miracle Network Hospitals to benefit Children's Health Dallas. This year-long philanthropic effort was founded in 2013 to bring the UT Dallas community together to raise funds and awareness for pediatric cancer research. All money that we raise goes directly to Children’s Health, meaning all money donated stays locally to help kids within our community. This effort culminates in an 12-hour dance marathon in April, where hundreds of UTD students come together to dance for those who can’t. CometTHON is entirely student-run and our Executive Team of about 30 undergraduate student leaders is working tirelessly to make CometTHON 2021 better than ever before.

What is FTK?

What is a miracle kid?

Miracle kids are children treated by Children’s Health whose families decide to stay involved within CometTHON. We have the honor of supporting a huge number of AMAZING families through CometTHON – some of whom you’ll get the opportunity to meet at our events! These families have all had unique experiences at Children’s Health, but they have all been through so much and everything we do is for them. From dancing with our fundraisers to sharing their stories, we love having our kids be a part of CometTHON and hope to give them the time of their lives.

Isn’t DM just one day?

Absolutely not! We hold a number of smaller events throughout the year. It’s important to keep fundraising all year long so that you have as much of an opportunity as possible to raise money For The Kids! CometTHON isn’t just one night, it’s a year-long mission to help the families at Children’s Health.
